People often hear 'boundary' and think 'distance'. In healthy relationships, the opposite is true: clear limits create the safety that closeness requires.

A boundary describes what you will do, not what the other person must become. That difference is everything.

Say it plainly, say it early, and say it kindly. Most relational damage comes not from the boundary but from the resentment that grew while it went unspoken.
